Marcelina Wade is the newest academic advisor for the College of Health Sciences. She earned a Master of Science in Sports Administration from Canisius College in 2019, and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Syracuse University in 2017. Prior to Â鶹¹ÙÍø, she worked as an academic advisor at Thomas Nelson Community College and Tidewater Community College. She has enjoyed working in higher education and wanted the four-year experience.

She grew up in Syracuse, New York, which she says has a "homie" feel and sense of community. She said Â鶹¹ÙÍø reminded her of that, just in a bigger city.

Wade's favorite quote from Maya Angelou is one she lives by in her work as an academic advisor: "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
